Mahendra's practice is focused on providing taxation advice and other related services to businesses and individuals. His areas of focus are tax and commercial law. Mahendra was employed as an Assistant Commissioner of both the Legal Services Division and Customs & Trade Administration Division of the Guyana Revenue Authority. After resigning from the Revenue Authority he was retained as External General Counsel of the Authority. During his tenure at the GRA he has handled hundreds of complex tax cases and has offered advice  on all aspects of taxation.

 

He has represented the Guyana Revenue Authority in contract negotiations, served as the Guyana representative on the CARICOM Standing Committees of Chiefs of Immigration and Comptrollers of Customs, represented Guyana at United Nations conferences on FACTA and participated in the United States Department of Energy training on Proliferation of Weapons of Mass destruction.
